IUS FACULTY OF LAW STUDENTS VISITED THE CITY HALL AND THE OLYMPIC MUSEUM

On March 10th, 2023, within the course “Legal History of Balkans”, FLW students, accompanied by senior assistant Mr. Ljubović, visited Olympic Museum and City Hall. In City Hall they were welcomed by the head of the Information Center of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (hereinafter: ICTY), Ms. Ismena Čaušević. The students got acquainted with the architectural, historical, and social significance of the “Vijećnica” (City Hall) of Sarajevo, and then they went to the Sarajevo Information Center on ICTY, where they attended the lecture on war crimes committed during the aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina, trialed before the Tribunal. The mandate of the Sarajevo Information Center is to provide the public with up-to-date, direct, and secure electronic access to all publicly available files of the Hague Tribunal and archival material contained in the online databases of the ICTY/MICT. The students had the opportunity to see the permanent exhibition and the original courtroom of the Hague Tribunal.

Students used the opportunity to thank their professor dr.sci. Benjamina Karić, the Major of Sarajevo, for facilitating this experience, and to the Olympic Museum and the “Vijećnica” (City Hall) of Sarajevo for their hospitality.
