Study visit organized at the Sarajevo Information Centre
On March 22, 2023., a study visit was organized in the Sarajevo Information Centre on the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Students of the 3rd year of Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies of University of Sarajevo, together with Senior Assistant Kenan Hodžić, had the opportunity to visit museum space and permanent exhibition: ‘’Showcasing the work and contribution of the ICTY/MICT’’, as well as learn about the activities, mandate, and role of the Information Centre, in the process of fostering the Rule of Law and transitional justice. Ms. Ismena Čaušević, employee and researcher in the Information Centre held a unique educational lecture, and the students expressed their interest in actively participating and asking questions about the work of the ICTY/MICT as well as infographics, photographs and exhibits which were part of the exhibition.
This unique memorial complex also includes the setting of the authentic Courtroom number 2 where stood trials for serious violations of war crimes enabled students to fully understand the reasons for establishing the ICTY, its contribution and overall legacy, but also its significance in achieving the international justice and criminal responsibility for the most serious crimes that were committed.
