With a warm welcome to Belgrade high school students and their teachers, Mayor emphasized the historical and symbolic value of Sarajevo City Hall: “Sarajevo always welcomes its guests with open arms! I am glad that the youth of Belgrade will take back with them beautiful memories from the City Hall and the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I wish you success in your further education and acquisition of new knowledge. You are always welcome in this city,” said Puharić.

The graduates, accompanied by professors Sanela Mušić and Marie Stochitch, had the opportunity to visit the Sarajevo Information Center on the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. During the visit, the participants had the opportunity to visit the authentic courtroom number 2, which enabled them to better understand the mechanism of international justice and its importance in the region. The permanent exhibition has an extremely valuable role in promoting and preserving the legacy of the ICTY. Photos on the wall and excerpts from witness statements gave students a concrete insight into the work of the ICTY.

In addition to this visit, during their stay in Sarajevo, students will also visit the History Museum of BiH with historian Nikolas Mol, and other museums and memorials dedicated to the war.

The French School in Belgrade is an international school who attends children of many nationalities.

Education is based on equality, fraternity, humanity and secularism.
